And a good day to you

Postby E-Hoog » Mon May 26, 2008 8:39 am

Hello all,

Another Wilbur Smith fan to fill the ranks. It must've been around the age of twelve that I first started reading WS novels. I had just discovered 'grown-up' novels and was reading a lot of Clive Cussler etc. when my dad pointed WS out to me. For the life of me I can't remember which book I read first, but it probably would've been When the Lion Feeds. I started in Dutch, but as the years progressed, so did my English language skills, and when I had to read some English books in highschool the choice wasn't very hard ;-). It was only then that it found out the limitations of Ducth translations and began reading all my books in English. Now I'm collecting all the WS novels in the PanMacmillan 'golden lettered' paperback format and I was really sad to see that layout disappear with Blue Horizon and more recently, Triumph of the Sun and, of course, The Quest. Now my row of WS novels doesn't look so neat anymore :(. But hey, it's the inside that counts right?

Well, that's about it for now. I've already browsed through some interesting topics, including the opinions on the 'and then, and then, and then...'-story that is called The Quest.

Bye,

Tom

Hello and welcome!

Lol, that reminds me of a scene in "Dude, Where's my car?":

“Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.”
