Hi i just joined this forum today found it by accident while i was suppose to be looking up scientific papers :) so glad to meet some true Wibur fans. Im a huge fan since I discovered Blue Horizon on a very wet surfing holiday in france in 2004, couldnt believe i'd never read one before ever since then i have been truly "wilbured".

since that summer i've been grabbing up every copy I can find, I now own all the Courtney Books and all the Ballantyne except 1 and also quite a few of his single books. found them quite hard to find in ireland but sourced a few on the net and I also spent the summer in Boston where there was a much more extensive collection.

Anyway just wanted to say hi to everyone and thanks to Matbow for setting up this site :D

Good to see you Grianmhar :) I too found my first Wilbur book while on a surfing holiday.
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

I'm Kate aka Kate4Tanus! Ignore my name... I was tired, okay!
I live in Australia.
Anyway... am I the youngest here? I am only 15, but I am already a HUGE Wilbur Smith fan! I converted all my friends.

Is anyone younger than me? i_heart_nefie is 9 days older than me so I beat her... anyone younger? I would love to know- then I will have to sadly relinquish my title of youngest member!!

Anyway, theres my intro! Bye!

Thanks for the very warm welcome.

I'm reading Monsoon currently, do most my reading on cross country flights.

Are the other series as entertaining and interesting as the Courtneys?

Simple answer - YES!

I think the Ballantynes are the least popular series, but they're still pretty good! Not sure if you've read all the Courtneys yet, but the whole series is brilliant! The Egyptians are different but fantastic. Some of the standalones are a bit "hit and miss" for me...

How many/which WS books have you read?

Really? When did this happen?! I really like the Ballantynes! Great Zimbabwean history!

And Hi Boxtop! I read many of the books out of sequence when I first started, but it's not that big a deal - they're perfect to read as stand-alones, but waay better when you know there's more to the story :)

Enjoy your reading - you have many great books ahead of you!

How did you come across WS...? I've heard he's not so popular in North America for some reason.
