Postby Matbow » Tue Nov 15, 2005 7:09 am

Hi everyone,

In order to try and get this forum as popular as possible I thought it might be worthwhile doing a little bit of market research to see how you guys found this forum so I can see where to concentrate my efforts in the future!

Thanks!

Matt

Hey Donny voting is not enabled or something.
I searched on Google, but it was way down the list. However i now see you've got it under sponsored link so that should help enormously.
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

Went to Wilbur Smith official site and then clicked on links. A "Wilbur Smith forum" link was at the top of the list which took me to Google groups and then i found you.

Have been looking for something like this for a while now, was surprised that there's not more Wilbur forums on the web, considering his fame and popularity.

I found this place by doing a search on Google for Wilbur Smith wiki (so I could get to the Wikipedia page about him). On that page, it had a link at the bottom of the article, to this place.

I Belonged to another site but it was very small and half the postings would get rejected, then googled and found you guys. It is very nice to communicate with fellow fans.

How did you come across this forum?

Postby Ada » Fri Feb 02, 2007 2:06 am

I googled WS, went to his official site & found your link. I originally went to WS's site to find out what happened to Danielle. I was very sad to read of her very traumatic illness and eventual death. What was even more tragic was what he learned afterwards - the possible reasons for his estrangement from his children. (See the article John R posted on Nov. 23, 2005 in The Library, subject: "Article from March 2005".) I assume most members have read the biography on the Official site - if you haven't, I recommend you do.
I wonder if he has been approached to do a whole book/biography - he is certainly old enough to do one. I hate it when you see "This Is Your Life" shows or written biographies for people less than 40 years. Personally, if I was famous I would refuse to do one that early for fear of tempting fate.
