Christmas Haul

Postby Rivaan » Tue Dec 25, 2007 11:40 pm

So.. what did you guys get for Christmas? :)

I thought I'd try to get the board talking in General Discussion again, lol.

As for me, I got £100, but that's pretty good, seeing how it was from just 2 people. I also worked on a website for my dad for 3 hours today and earned another £100, making it 200. :D

Nice to see you guys got a good haul :)

Although I must jump on my little box and say I that I am very much against spending money when the man commands me to - I'd rather spend it when I want to ;) Having said that I did treat myself to a BEAUTIFUL new winter coat :D

The man? Oh, Nefer..

Well for me, it's not the man.. it's the prices! Some things were so cheap this Christmas!

Today I bought 5 Xbox games and 1 PS2 game, all for £23.99! :D

Wow, that is a good deal!! Good score!

I'm a bit cynical when it comes to the Boxing Week sales, mostly because the prices advertised as '60% off!' are the same as they were in November  Many people buy on sale because of the hype - it's the rare and lucky who wait in line ups overnight to get a genuinely good deal.

What games did you get?

Well the games I got were pre-owned, which would explain the prices, but I always check the discs before I buy, with pre-owned games. So it's all good! :D

I got 4 thinking games for the Xbox. Syberia, Syberia 2, Farenheit, and Still Life. All require puzle-solving to progress with the storyline.

I then got an Xbox game purely for the total destruction you can wreak! The Punisher is a game that allows you to kill your enemies in so many different ways! Electric chair, strapped to a chair with a drill sslowly going into the face, on a conveyor belt feet first into a wood chipper... you get the idea.

The PS2 game I got was The Bouncer. It's a game I had wanted for a while; an action/fighting game by the people behind the Final Fantasies.

I got lots of little things for Christmas, and quite a bit a money.

I have a few things I want to buy (PS3/XBOX360, snowboard) but I'm going to India and Dubai in February so I really need to save it all :(

Enjoy India, trust me you'll love the shopping there :) And Dubai is always tons of fun! Sensible to save your cash. According to the little bro, PS3 prices might be coming down a bit more so you might get it for cheaper if you wait.

Prices usually do come down in the post-Christmas sales, either in January or February. That's when I am waiting to get a PSP.

And wow, India and Dubai? That's cool. :D

I can't go to any underdeveloped country, at the moment, for medical reasons.. :( I dunno when I will be going there again but not for another year at least. I still need to be revaccinated with a BCG!
