Students Commiseration Thread

I have a feeling a few of us are students, so if anyone wants to rant about finals, profs... or uni-injustice, feel free!

I'll start: I have 2 freaking finals in 1 day! Not cool. Plus, I'm suffering insomnia in anticipation of Genetics on Weds. But at least it'll be over soon!

Genetics? That's too hard for me.

Well i 'was' a student up until last June where i finished my degree in Economics. So i can't rant about university right now, but i do know how you feel with all the pressure from exams and essay dead-lines. It's not nice :( but like you say, it will all be over soon so is worth the effort. Good luck [b6]

and in 20 years time you'll be missing it, well maybe just the parties

Keep it up chica! It'll be over soon, speaking of exams I'm finished! But my last one who knows. I've made up so much stuff (this if for my ecological anthropology course) in some assignments and rocked them but when I actually focus and do the nitty gritty I end up getting horrid marks! So who knows how my last final went... all I know is that it's over and it's a glorious feeling! \:D/ [tanz]

I'm too old for this.

Just started studying again. An advanced tax paper and one of those wordy sort of papers about silly theories to do with management.

Who needs it!

I totally feel for you Yakumo.

I have a bunch to write as well... some that are interesting... but they'd be more interesing if they weren't all due a few days before finals and some are due as actual final exams.... argh!

You are not alone! Perservere! (Like me, lol!)

Been buried under mountains of tax law so didn't spot these welcome supporting posts. Not to mention some gobbledegook (Nefer you might need to investigate that one  ) about brand values and company cultures.

@ Nefer. We all know you've got it in you. It'll be a breeze. Just write naturally and you'll do well. The very best of luck with it all.

Keep your support coming, I need it.

So sitting accountancy exams can anyone offer any advice of how to pass the exam!

Well, my plan for my exams in May is:

- Do the bare minimum until 1.5 weeks before the exam.
- Take the prior week off work.
- Do 1 hour a day of revision - memorising and writing notes.
- Do 4 hours a day of question practise.
- Take a 20 min break in the morning, 1 hour lunch and a 20 min break in the afternoon. Stop at 5pm and relax all evening. Have Saturday off!
- Day before the exam - memorise theories, standards, laws, names etc... that I don't already know.

That's what works for me...but I'm sure a lot of people like to do little periods for a longer time.

Matt

ETA - why is this topic in the General Wilbur Smith Discussion Forum?!!! Movified!

I'm feeling very sorry for myself at the moment, having spent most of today doing a progress test - one of the "bare minimum" requirements I mentioned in my previous post. At least it's miserable outside...altho I have missed 2 good footy matches on TV :(

And I still haven't finished it...*sigh*

Aww... I know how you feel. Been having the hardest time settling down to study today... can you tell? I've been doing nothing but practise exams... which are freaking me out as I thought I knew more than I apparently do...

And me... it's the actual getting down to study part that's difficult to do. And with finals looming over the horizon it's not a good place to be.
