Riddles!

Postby Ada » Wed Apr 18, 2007 2:28 am

Here's an easy one:

What am I?

Ever running on my race,
Never staying at one place,
Through the world I make my tour,
Everywhere at the same hour.
If you please to spell my name,
Reversed or forward 'tis the same?

I've been racking my brain and the only things i keep coming up with are the sun, moon or time. The only word that is spelt the same backwards is the noon day sun. That last line may be more cryptical so i have my doubts whether this is going in the right direction.
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

Quite correct Mat,:) i think this riddle is best spoken quickly to someone for them to answer and not written down.
Ramon got it right aswell but he left it coz he wanted a giggle at all the answers that came in :)
Either one of you feel free to put a new one up.

".....wanted a giggle at all the answers......"

Hey! I was the only one. Matt doesn't count as he got it right.

I don't mind being laughed at. Most of the time it is my aim in life. Like one of my fridge magnets says: (No, not the one that says "Out of my mind, Back in 5 minutes", the other one; The world looks brighter from behind a smile. :)

Discouraged, no never, I'll keep trying, participation is the name of the game. I don't mind being laughed at, people are always making fun of me. Look here's a good one for Ada. Lets suck her in. These sort of things don't bother me. I'll get over it, mumble, grumble, mumble, mumble, and what's more mumble mumble ahh, grumble, mumble, mumble, walking away from the keyboard - still mumbling but out of earshot of the computer #@*%#@, mumble, grumble nobody loves me, I'm just here to amuse people, mumble mumble grumble, mumble, mumble, grumble, mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble, mumble , still mumbling, grumble, mumble, mumble................

Thats what i would have said aswell
I was hoping that question would run a little bit longer so that some poor unsuspecting person would run straight into it.

I'm curious. If we disregard the Noah/Moses fact, how did you come up with the answer four 2x2, Ada and delby?

Its an old school song
the animals went in two by two hurrah hurrah
the animals went in two by two hurrah hurrah
the animals went in two by two the elephant and the kangaroo
and they all went into the ark for to get out of the rain

continuing up though 3-10 with various rhyming ends for the numbers I dont remember them all but I think the little pig thought he was going to heaven was the one for seven.

aah those were the days
