Is anyone else having virus problems? I have a double whammy, i.e. a computer one has bypassed our Vet Antivirus programme and I have a cold i.e. very sore throat, runny nose, etc.. The computer one (assuming it's the same one), has caused a friend to lose his email inbox and I read on another forum someone had been off line for days due to one. My USB is OK but my daughters still have minor problems with theirs re reading them – despite doing Vet scanning. You would think the novelty had worn off by now. Who do these people tell about their achievements? Isn’t it prison if you’re caught doing it? I hope it isn’t the antivirus programme creators doing it to justify their existence.

LoL, no, all the virus programmers get together in Vegas, in the guise of doctors, and behind closed doors, show off their accomplishments!

Most virus programmers are fight the man type people, who think they're winning by bringing corporations. Or similar.

I use the firewall from our ISP, and also use Ad-Aware and Spybot, both free for download, and very effective. I haven't had a virus problem on my puter in aages, and having said this, I will promptly be infected The firewall we use is peer-less, try and see if your ISP offers one, we pay about $5 a month for ours.

As for the other, regular doses of ginger tea, with liberal infusions of chamomile, taken as needed. Works wonders!

^ Thanks Nefer. I’ll talk to the kids about the extra protection. You wouldn’t want to read this out of context, as it sounds like I’m talking about contraception. Actually, there is a slight similarity in that just one form of protection is not always enough – i.e. is 100 per cent safe. The only foolproof protection is to say no! We’ve only been connected at home to the net since October last year and now that we’ve become addicted to it like millions of others, I think it would be extremely difficult to “say no” – i.e. disconnect.

Re my other virus, I am having lots of hot drinks but mainly coffee and normal tea (which I think is now called black tea). I’ve never been a fan of the herbal teas, Chinese teas etc. although strangely enough I do like Twinings Chai which has some ginger with cinnamon, star anise and clove. But even then I have to add milk and a sweetener.

I use Avast Antivirus Home Edition (free), as well as Ad-Aware. I haven't had a problem with a virus in a very long time.

i've not had any problems with viruses so far this year, fingers crossed it stays like that! i use norton anti-virus which came with my computer, but its running out soon so i will have a look at these free ones

Ive got Kaspersky and its doin a great job but the thing i love about it it the way my puter squeals like a pig if it finds anything
