Frank Herbert

I'm sure there must be quite a few people here who have read the Dune Series by Frank Herbert...I've just finished the first book "Dune" and I thought it was brilliant!
For those not in the know, Dune is one of the classic Sci-Fi novels, based in the far future where different worlds are ruled by "noble families". The plot focusses around a conflict between 2 of the most powerful of these families and the emporer.
It feels different to a lot of sci-fi novels that I've read as it manages to bring in the human element - the reader can get an emotional attachment to the main characters, for me this is one of the key requirements of a book.
Highly recommended for anyone who fancies a slightly different type of book.
