I didn't see Robert Ruark in here. Has anybody read "Something of Value"? It is
set in Kenya during the uprising of the Mau Mau (sp?) Was also made into a movie starring
Rock Hudson.

Hi Anna - not many people remember him - got the book in my office, one of my first, African reads.
Good choice.

I am giving away my age :D

He wrote some other books as well but this was his best in my opinion.

Fewer and fewer writers on Africa - a tough subject to get right - age is a prerequisite. To quote WS; write only about what you know.
