If you like fantasy then give the Kingkiller Chronicles a try; kindof a Harry Potter novel for adults.

Agree. I've almost finished the second book in the series. Good stuff!

I have just finished the first book. Quite a mixed feeling about it to tell the truth, it did seem quite a long read to me. It didn't really get going until the last 20% (Kindle reading status). It just seemed like there was a lot of padding in it.

Having said that, because the last 20 % did pick up quite well I will read the second book. I get the feeling this first book is just setting all the background scenes in place ready for the next book. But it was a book I could put down :?

The second book was much of the same, I thought. And yes, you can put it down. I put the 2nd book down for more than half a year at some point. It is a good read, by all means, but somehow you get tired of it. And the whole Denna stuff drove me a bit crazy. The second book has some good stuff! But don't expect any closure yet ;-)
