I absolutely love the discworld series anyone else tried them

Yes, it was a couple of years ago and only the following four:

The Colour of Magic
Witches Abroad
Maskerade
Feet of Clay

I know there are many more but I sort of lost interest. The novelty must have worn off. The more I read, the less funny they seemed. However they couldn't have been too bad since I read more than one!

Pretty much sums up my feelings aswell, i seem to spend more and more time looking for something funny in a phrase when all along it was just wording.
Have read:
Mort
Eric
Pyramids (did not like)
Reaper Man
Lords and Ladies
Going Postal

I agree with all of you. It appears to be one of those never ending series that have lost it’s focus. I have read a couple and I’m probably done with it. Unless any of you can recommend a really good entry to the series.

Well I love Tezza and its always best to start at the beginning but my faves are always the guards series which monsoon hasnt tried and ada started with the third , the main charachter Sam Vimes is addictive. I hope you might try again .

Terry Pratchett is brilliant, but there's a key to enjoying them and that is: never read more than one at a time.
His novels are ideal books for in between more 'serious' books, like WS. I read the first three Pratchett's in a row and got tired of it. Then after half a year I gave it another go and was once more startling everybody in my train compartment by laughing out loud like a madman. My favourite two are Guards Guards and Moving Pictures.
The only criticism I have is that some parts of the plot are too 'vague', where you think: 'What on Earth(or Discworld) is he on about?'

I have tried to read Terry Pratchetts books on several occasions but have been unable to get more than a few pages into them....With the exception of MORT. I finished reading Mort the same day I picked it up and to date it is one of the funniest books I have ever read. The whole concept of death having an apprentice tickled me.
I hope his illness is in remission for a long time to come as I know there are plenty of people who enjoy his work.
