Just read this great book and on page 333 noticed that when they discovered 'Lobengula's Treasure' , Craig selected one of the stones and scratched the glass of the lantern, saying, 'That's proof!, That's a diamond!' I query this as there are other stones that scratch glass. Hardly proof positive!

I guess that is, for layman's purposes, a genuine test for diamonds! I didn't question it :)

I also moved your topic into the Ballantynes thread as it's more appropriate here
