Favourite Ballantyne Novel

Here is an opportunity to make known your favourite book from the Ballantyne series.
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

A Falcon Flies...

That book captivated me from page 1. I like all the Ballantynes, 'cept for the last one. Never liked the hero dude, Craig Whatshisname.

I forget which one I voted for probably Men of Men but seeing as I've been slagging the Ballantynes I though I should stick up for this one - it was a pretty good read - some decent sex scenes and some nice killings.

it's my curse to be part of the minority. For me, it's the Leopard.

(ok, in this case I am the minority as I see)

yeah it was ok in spots. but i'm still wondering what happened to the soldiers that Craig and Tungata left tied up in the cave after they escaped from Lobengulas tomb and grabbed the helicopter

Seems to be a pretty even spread across the field when it comes to these books!

One of you guys mentioned earlier that there was no linkage between Penrod (T of the Sun and the other Ballantynes. HAve you any guesses/ thoughts as to who he fits in with? Its been intriguing me since it was mentioned.

Not entirely sure. I can't remember if his ancestry was mentioned - guess it's time for a re-read :D

Hello what has happened here! They were all level pegging but now the Falcon surprisingly seems to have been left in the nest and the Leopard is up with the leaders!

I approached the Ballantynes with some trepidation, given the general euphoria that surrounds the Courtneys. Having finished ATime To Die , I bit the bullet - ensuring this time to stick to the cronology.

After Falcon Fly I must say I seem to have made the transition quite painlessly. WS's inimitable style carries over anyway, and the African theme continues!

A Falcon Flies is the best of the Ballantynes novel and one on my favourites!! At the beginning there is the most romantic scene of all WS books when Robyn looks for the firs time at the Africa's land!!I love it! All IMHO

It was a tough one. The first 3 are the best. Went for Angels weep in the end. Just.
