Reviews of 'The Quest'

Postby John R » Tue Apr 17, 2007 4:04 pm

If anyone can find any reviews by people in newspapers or magazines or anything really, then post it here. I'm looking but at the moment i can't find anything. I was looking for professional opinions really. I've seen quite a few on Amazon which are quite bad and don't say very nice things about the new book. This is the only proper one i've found from the daily mirror but its not much of a review!

THE QUEST
by Wilbur Smith (Macmillan £18.99) 3/5
by Henry Suton 13/04/2007
NO one does adventure quite like Smith and, true to form, his latest is a swirling torrent of unexplored depths and manliness in ancient Egypt. When the Nile dries up, Pharaoh knows there’s only one man who can get to the source of the trouble – the warlock Taita

I've been looking too and I can't find any either. Seems quite strange...

I rather strange article appeared in "The Times" a couple of weeks ago:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 625868.ece

It doesn't review The Quest at all, but does give a little insight into WS's character.

Especially certain attributes!
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

 Boy! And you think I'm brave asking him about ghost writers! Do you take v i a g r a? I wonder if she had her running shoes on too?

(I had to rewrite that. The "v" word came out "spam spam spam" - that's the first auto correct I've had come up on this Forum. I'm impressed! :D )

That last interview had me chortling!! Brave journalist! Is it strange that we're having a hard time finding reviews?

The amazon reviews that I read were all in support of the book...
