A new book

hi
i am new!
i have read all of WS Egyptian collection including The Quest and a few others.
Does anyone know if he is going to write a new one anytime soon? as in now lol.

If Wilbur Smith continues with his schedule of past years, one book every two years. The next book; whatever it may be will not be out till March/April 2009.

Penitent is correct, no new book until at least 2009 (he won't have even started writing it yet).
You mention you've read all the Egyptian series but have you read all his other books? You really should give them ago - they're just as good as the Egyptians!

hey. i havent read much else by him. can you suggest something which is along similar lines. i am back at uni now so i might not be able to read anything till christmas but i could have a look. or even get some of his other books for christmas.

If you like historical books you cant go past the seafaring Courtneys series:
- Birds of Prey, Monsoon and Blue Horizon.
or the original Cournteys series:
- When the lion feeds, sound of thunder, a sparrow falls.
You can also try the Sunbird. Its kind of an earlier version of River God / Seventh scroll all rolled into one. Set in a fictitious Carthaginian kingdom in what is now Botswana.It has the ancient part and the modern part with the characters all being intertwined. Its a good read.
The Egyptian series is good. but as I have said and I will always say, they are not the be all and end all.

I have just finished reading "The Quest" and thought it was one of Wilbur's best efforts to date. I have read all of his novels and the Egyptian Series have been my favorite. I note that some reviews have said that it is too erotic, however this is part of life so why shouldn't it be written about. I was so thrilled when Taita received back his manhood and entered the "Font" the lost fountain of youth. I hope Wilbur's next novel will continue with Taita & Fenn seeking out the whereabouts of the lost "Font" in another thrilling Egyptian adventure. All the best to Wilbur Smith, keep up the excellent writing.
