Favourite TV show?

My favourite TV show is 24

A show, which many feel should be brought out of their misery continues for 24 ratings and boxset sales for Fox to deliver. It was widely assumed that Season 8 would mark the end of the show run, not least because pine is compact, but it seems to lose some enthusiasm among the producers of the show for a ninth term.

So I just watched episode 5 last night and I have to say that I'm liking it a lot! Yes - the CGI is bad, but in an artistic non-realistic kinda way, and the acting is pretty wooden too, but overall it's a good distraction!

I'm also watching HBO's "The Pacific" and I like that too; not as good as Band of Brothers but still good and informative.

So I've finally gotten around to watching Spartacus. Very good show. I agree with Matt here; the first episodes weren't great. Especially the first one, but once you accept the CGI and the stylized manner in which battles and blood spew forth in a never ending parade, it's actually pretty damn good. I found myself properly hooked around episode 4 and finished Blood and Sand within a week. That last episode, bloody hell... (literally)

At the moment I'm watching Gods of the Arena and that is also very watchable. I really like Batiatius. Not him personally of course, what with him being an evil sob and so on, but watching his exploits sure is amusing. Gods of the Arena is must-see if you've enjoyed Blood and Sand.

Apart from my girlfriend thinking I'm now watching porn on a regular basis, Spartacus is a recommendation to everyone who has enjoyed Rome and Gladiator. By the way, if you've not seen Rome (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384766/): shame on you!

Hi E-Hoog - I watch theste tv shows and series as well - My gosh are they ever harsh and violent and pornographic as get all - It is amazing and hard to belive that television has come so far - way back when it was considered taboo when on the star trek series Captain Kirk kissed an afro american girl on television

Wow, those taboos seem to be properly shattered then. I can still remember my amazement at the landing scenes of Saving Private Ryan. To my knowledge, that was the first major film that showed entrails hanging from stomach cavities with such accuracy (not that I have experience with this ). It was the first I saw anyway. The films I saw before that, when someone was shot, he just fell over with a dramatic shout. Most of the times they didn't even bother with a red blotch on the clothes. But coming from not being allowed an interracial kiss on tv it must really have come a long way. What I find amazing about Spartacus though, is that they are able to shock me anew every time. They don't just slash someone's throat every time, and leave it at that, no they invent all new gruesome ways for people to be skewered on a sword with each episode.

Spartacus, the person, was also in Conn Iggulden's book Death of Kings by the way. Didn't end too well there . Anyway, interesting reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spartacus

My favorite TV shows in the past are "Mash", "Taxi", "Cheers" and "Frasier". We started subscribing to Netflix recently and I got hooked on "24". Took me almost all year to watch the whole series.

I've heard a lot of good things about Sons of Anarchy. I might give it a try. The thing is though, that at the moment I follow a lot of shows, so I'm not sure I will have the time :D

I watched the first episode of Spartacus/Vengence last night.Could not believe my eyes, never have seen so much debauchery and perversion in my life and hard to believe that this is broadcast direct to your living room. Can,t wait until next episode on Sunday ( har har  )

If you ever start the series Sons Of Anarchy make certain you start at season one and watch episodes in proper sequence - I swear Sons Of Anarchy is more addicting than Spartacus if you can belive that.

I think I will start Sons of Anarchy, when I get round to it. Now, I've watched the first two episodes of Spartacus. My, my, I had almost forgotten how much blood and sex were in it. I like it so far though. The new actor does a very good job at playing Spartacus!

I can not tell you how fantastic Sons Of Anarchy is as a TV series - it is the very best number one show I have ever watched on television it is more addicting than playing Angry Birds on you Iphone.Remember watch the series from episode one and in sequence it will blow you mind.At Christmas one present I got was a long sleeve white Sons Of Anarchy tshirt ( I only wear it on special occasions har har ) No I mean it E-Hoog get yourself in to watching the Sons it will make you weak at the knees - it is that good.

Bye the way while watching Spartacus/Vengence episode one this season I actually had to look away from the tv could not bear to watch when the Roman put his hand in the guys open wound and pulled his guts out - holy mackeral E-Hoog what will they think of next

Chookie so you know Sons Of Anarchy has been renewed for three more seasons according to producer Kurt Sutter.By far the most entertaining, sit at the edge of your seat TV series I have ever seen.My wife and I are complete Sons Of Anarchy addicts, cant wait til the new season starts, and you are right Becker is a piece of work if there ever was a character in a TV show he wins top prize.
