Suggested authors??

Postby dodgy » Tue Sep 25, 2007 10:26 am

Hi there,
Can anyone suggest a new author to start reading please?

I like Wilbur Smith (obviously) and that type of genre, otherwise psychological type detective thrillers. Currently reading Jonathan Kellerman 'The Murder Book' but i cant get into it. Also like authors such as Michael Cordy, Harlen Coben, Jack Kerley and Douglas Preston.

Already read all the Dan Brown, James Patterson etc types.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions - if you find me a real gem to read i will be eternally grateful!

Hi dodgy, welcome to the forum!

I'd give Conn Iguldons Emporer series a try if you haven't already read them, very Wilbur Smith like (although not in the same league). There's a thread on it here where Monsoon and I have posted spoiler free reviews of the first couple of books.

If you've already read them then have you tried any of James Clavells books?

Try 'Hold my Hand I'm Dying', by John Gordon Davis - not quite as good as WS but worth a crack. Interesting style.
Hope you like.
