I have a lovely photo of Wilbur and Danielle taken about 11 years ago, I am sitting between them. It was taken in Cape Town. I was lucky to get invited to a luncheon where he was. Great speaking to him and is then wife.

Hi Erica!

I've moved your post to the Introductions forum, as it seems to fit better here.

Hope to see you around the forum :)

Ack, no way!!!

How was he like to talk to? And I echo John's request, if you don't mind :)

HI I am a new member.
I had the pleasure of meeting Wilbur Smith in Bath (UK) at the book signing of The Triumph of the Sun, well worth the wait of an hour, he is a very pleasant person to talk to, even though there wa a que out in the street, he took the time to ask ME questions I have read all his books, most of them twice.

I have read the quest in 2 days, then turned round and read it again, always something i missed.

Great writer, its a shame the books are 2 years apart now, but he did an interview on a British Radio station a few months back explaining that he is taking his retirement in stages.

Hi Graham, the "madbrit" . Welcome to the Forum.

I'd be interested to read your review of The Quest since you're rereading it straight away and like me, have read all of Wilbur's books. As you'll see in The Quest's review section, it wasn't as popular as most of his other stories.

Heya Graham :) I was charmed by WS as well - an amazing person to talk to, even if the conversation lasts about 5 mins, lol.
