Just over 7 hrs now!
Hope it answers some of the confusion i have from the end of season 2.
While a tiger eyed its prey and an eagle raged in a thunderous sky a river of darkness fell upon a burning sun and the wolf cried tis a time to die, thus did the angels weep as power and triumph in those golden eyes did creep.

Well I've seen the first ep now. Have to say, I wasn't completely blown away but it was good - not much "action" and a little bit slow.

I like how the writers manage to bring in real world issues into their plots - this episode the whole morality of suicide bombing being the obvious theme, drawing parallels to situation in Israel/Palestine.

I was quite surprised that it appears Roslin (and the other dude) have been executed, I've got a feeling that's not the last we'll see of them - if it is then that's a pretty bold move for the first ep of a season.

I'm hoping for some more action in the next episode :)

Afraid i wasn't too enamoured by it either, it all seemed a bit surreal to me.
It looked like the producer was trying to leave more of an underlying message to me rather than further the Galactica storyline which was further enhanced by Colonel Thi wearing that cap type thing, eye patch, beard and walking stick which made him look like he should be preaching fundamentalism in some park somewhere!
They can't kill off the original Apollo (Richard Hatch) can they?

Oh and the effort to make Apollo appear fat just didn't carry, instead he ended up looking like an oompa loompa from Charlie and the Chocolate factory!

I've been checking out the thoughts on other forums and it seems we're not alone in being under-whelmed. However, the one overriding opinion from those people that are watching at US pace is that the season gets better from ep4 onwards and there's an absolutely awesome episode around there somewhere. Good stuff!

I actually thought Lee being fat was done quite well, but I didn't really think it suited the character. I'm sure he'll be thin again in no time!

Also, for some reason when the "rescue" party arrived on New Caprica for some reason I thought their uniforms and guns were very reminiscent of WWII guns/clothes. Was I just imagining this?

Okay, you guy's are absolutely right, there was a lot to dislike, Adama's long hair & handlebar mustache, fat Apollo, Chief and that whiney half wit he is with. but be sure it will get better. Have any of you wondered if the producers choose the only sexy girls on the show to all be Cylons as part of some mind game of theirs? I still love this show.[/b]
