Hi... I didnt realise there was an Intro section of the forum. Oh well. Anyway, here i am.
I am female, 24 years of age and reside in Sydney, Australia. I have just completed my masters in ancient history at university and am about to land a job, hopefully real soon.
I adore anything and everything about ancient history (except, maybe, the political angle
), and that led me to discover WS's novels. I have actually only read the Egyptian novels - that is, except
7th Scroll, for i prefer the novels set in ancient Egypt. A friend from the past, who I am sadly no longer in touch with (and who, by the way, was a budding egyptologist), first introduced me to
River God when i was 16. i read it and immediately fell in love with it. I was really anxious for a sequel, but I was disappointed that
7th Scroll was set in modern Egypt and did not follow the lives of Taita, Memnon, etc. No offense to those who liked
7th Scroll.
But my disappointment was soon forgotten when, a few years later, I saw
Warlock in the bookshops. I was giddy when i read the cover summary and discovered that it was a continuation of the ancient Egyptians. I loved it just as much as RG.
And now that I have
the quest, I look forward to see how it unfolds.
WS aside, I enjoy reading, writing, listening to music, photography, swimming, walking, movies, dogs, and various other topics/hobbies/interests which my peers consider to be "dorky" (such as ancient history and museums) but which I thoroughly enjoy anyway.
And.... yeah, that's about it.
I look forward to see what other readers have to say about WS's novels.
Cheerio for now.
